Sustainable Blue Economy: investing in the future of the oceans

  • Leonard:Paris

Do you know about the Blue Economy? Leonard and Sustainable Ocean Alliance (SOA)* are joining forces to launch a series of four public conferences dedicated to certain aspects of the "Sustainable Blue Economy."From March to June, we will explore the oceans' prospects for developing renewable energies, the future of ports, and the resilience of coastal territories.

The role of the oceans in preserving the balance of life on the planet and the climate is better documented than ever, and many States and associations are organizing themselves to protect them better. At the same time, marine environments are whetting new economic appetites between renewable energies and the exploitation of rare resources.

Is a reasoned economic development of the oceans possible? Can the “sustainable blue economy” reconcile economic and ecological interests?

This event inaugurates a new cycle of Leonard events that will particularly examine the prospects for the development of marine energies, the future of ports and infrastructures, and the resilience of coasts and marine ecosystems.
