17 startups supported by Leonard present their solutions for the future of construction, mobility, real estate and energy

PRESS RELEASE — Leonard, the VINCI Group’s foresight and innovation laboratory, organised a Demo Day on 4 June. The online event featured  the five early stage startups that have been incubated by the SEED program for six months. Their projects focus on three major verticals for the transformation of cities and infrastructure: construction, mobility and energy.

The startups were Build2B (platform for construction freelancers), Soliquid (3D printing), EP Tender (battery as a service), Inergeen (modular construction) and VanO (shared mobility), as well as Waste Marketplace (construction site waste recycling), a startup resulting from VINCI’s intrapreneurship program. They each had a few minutes to pitch their innovative solutions and new business models to a jury of seven well-known investors from France and other countries, who all praised the quality of the projects. More than 300 people connected up to listen to the pitches and discussions, confirming that there is tremendous interest in innovative projects for the city of the future.

“The Leonard Demo Day offered top-quality pitches and ranks among the very best Demo Days I’ve been at in over 10 years as a business angel and venture capitalist. It’s all the more impressive given that this was a virtual Demo Day where everyone took part remotely. The organisation using the Hopin platform, with dedicated meeting rooms to be able to continue discussions after the pitches, worked perfectly,” said Ray Levitt, Operating Partner at Blackhorn Ventures and a member of the investor jury.

Next up will be the startups and scaleups accelerated by the CATALYST program, which will be presenting the outcomes of their successful collaborative projects with VINCI Group entities.

Through to 19 June, every day at 17.00 CET, the 11 companies specialising in construction, real estate and mobility will be chatting with the VINCI experts they have met and presenting the case studies on which they have worked together.
