Energy obviously represents a major socio-economic and environmental challenge for the coming decades. The strategic, economic and financial stakes are enormous. Over 70 per cent of our planet is covered with water. Wind, tides and ocean currents make the seas an inexhaustible source of energy. The international race to find the best technologies for exploiting this potential has begun. Which technologies are shaping the future of this new mix of renewable energies?
Our panel of experts will give an overview of the current developments in this specific field and give their own perspectives to help us navigate through the real opportunities and the false good ideas.
The round table will be moderated by Yuki Esser, from the Dutch Marine Energy Center, and will feature:
– Robert Cavagnaro, PhD, Mechanical Engineer, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (USA)
– Marcus Lehmann, Co-Founder and CEO, Calwave (USA)
– Irina Lucke, Division Manager, OMEXOM, VINCI Energies (Germany)
– Rita Sousa, Partner, Faber Ocean / Climate Tech (Portugal)
It will be followed by pitches of the startups Calwave (USA), Ecowave power (Israel), SWAC (France) and Floating Power Plant (Denmark).
See you on 23 June from 2 to 3.30 pm for the 3rd event of the cycle, “A phantom threat? Coastal areas facing rising sea levels and retreating coastline”!
