A competition to promote more sustainable construction
Leonard hosts the eight edition of Construction Startup Competition alongside prominent industry players and venture and venture capital firms Cemex Ventures, Caterpillar, Dysruptek by Haskell, Ferrovial, Hilti, NOVA by Saint-Gobain, Trimble, and Zacua Ventures.
Construction Startup Competition 2024 searches for the brightest startups from around the world to disrupt the industry and make construction more sustainable, efficient, and on time.
This competition aims to discover the most promising innovations in sustainable construction, productivity improvement, supply chain management, and emerging techniques and technologies in construction. This year again, Leonard teams with CEMEX Ventures, the corporate venture capital and open innovation unit of CEMEX to announce the opening of applications.
The Construction Startup Competition promotes innovation, collaboration, and the adoption of technology, focusing on solutions in four key areas: Green Construction (sustainability), Enhanced Productivity (efficiency), Construction Supply Chain (timeliness), and the Future of Construction (disruption). This platform serves as a valuable opportunity for startups to connect with potential clients and partners, secure funding, test their products in global markets, and pitch to active industry investors and potential collaborators.
3 winners at Pitch Day 2024
This year, 3 winners will be rewarded during the ‘Pitch Day,’ the final stage of the competition, which will take place at the Trimble Dimensions User Conference in Las Vegas, from November 11 to 13, 2024.
In the past seven years, the Construction Startup Competition has served as a platform for nearly 3,000 startups, aiding them in fundraising efforts and increasing their visibility. The competition has crowned 36 winners, who have together secured over US$396 million in funding. More than a third of these winners have received investments from one or more of the competition hosts, and three Contech acceleration programs utilize the competition as a vetted pipeline for selecting their cohorts.
