A new cohort to accelerate environmental solutions across the VINCI Group
Following a successful first edition, the Scale up! programme is launching a new cohort made up of 11 projects from companies across the VINCI Group.
Jointly led by the VINCI Environment Department and Leonard, the VINCI Group’s innovation and foresight platform, Scale up! aims to support high environmental impact projects in scaling up in order to accelerate their operational deployment.
From 16 to 18 September 2026, project leaders gathered at Leonard for a first Rushweek, marking the official launch of this new cohort.
Scale up!: transforming local solutions into global impact
Launched in 2024 by the VINCI Environment Department and Leonard, the Scale up! programme is aimed at projects that won the VINCI Environment Award, have demonstrated their relevance in the field and have the potential to be deployed on a larger scale. In 2025, the programme supported the 19 most promising solutions from the competition.
The programme mobilises a range of tailored resources around a common objective: enabling these solutions to take a decisive step forward in their development in order to accelerate and amplify the environmental transition across the Group’s various business lines.
Through Scale up!, VINCI is thus pursuing the ambition behind the Environment Award: “Local solutions, global impact.”
11 solutions selected for the new cohort
Throughout the programme, the 11 teams will benefit from dedicated support designed to structure their development and prepare the deployment of their solutions on a larger scale.
In line with VINCI’s environmental ambition, the supported solutions address six key areas: mitigation (decarbonisation), adaptation to climate change, new materials, reuse, resource recovery, as well as water and renaturation.
Mitigation
Remote patrol (VINCI Autoroutes)
Replace physical road patrols with structured remote video surveillance combined with automatic incident detection.
Greendeed (VINCI Energies)
Provide off-balance-sheet and impact-oriented energy financing to accelerate industrial decarbonisation.
Acoustiscan (VINCI Energies)
Develop predictive maintenance in offshore wind farm substations.
Adaptation
Fire risk prevention (VINCI Energies / VINCI Autoroutes)
Ensure early fire detection through imaging and detection systems equipped with artificial intelligence.
New materials
Enrobés Up® (VINCI Construction)
Develop “upcycled”, durable and recyclable asphalt mixes, combining performance, the circular economy and environmental protection.
Orizome® (VINCI Construction)
Produce high-quality technosols from resources available on recycling platforms in order to meet the need for topsoil.
Reuse and resource recovery
QuickSoil Analysis (VINCI Construction)
Provide rapid on-site soil analysis to reduce delays and storage requirements while promoting the reuse of excavated soil.
Office-to-Housing (VINCI Immobilier)
Transform obsolete office buildings into high-quality housing to meet growing demand.
Vincyclerie (VINCI Energies)
Develop a reuse centre near Lyon and facilitate the integration of materials from the circular economy into purchasing tools.
Water
Xsona / Arpacal (VINCI Energies)
Enable continuous, real-time monitoring of wastewater quality in coastal wastewater treatment plants through the Internet of Things (IoT).
Renaturation
Fresh’aire (VINCI Autoroutes)
Design cooler, more ecological and more inclusive rest areas to improve user comfort while promoting biodiversity.*
A first Rushweek to launch the cohort
To mark the launch of this new cohort, project leaders gathered at Leonard from 16 to 18 September 2026 for a first Rushweek.
This launch sequence aimed to enable the teams to get to know each other, discover the programme and lay the foundations for their roadmap for the months ahead.
The programme included an introduction to the coaching framework, meetings between project leaders and their coaches, collective workshops, presentations of each project’s roadmap, as well as the resources and tools that will be mobilised throughout the programme.
Ten months to prepare for scaling up
From September 2026 to June 2027, the 11 projects will benefit from personalised support combining individual coaching, thematic expertise and group sessions.
Throughout the programme, the teams will work on the conditions for deploying their solution, structuring their development strategy, identifying obstacles to be overcome, as well as mobilising the stakeholders needed to scale up.
Thanks to the complementary expertise of the VINCI Environment Department and Leonard, project leaders will benefit from both environmental expertise and support inspired by best practices in innovation acceleration and intrapreneurship.
The ambition remains the same: to give these solutions the means to be deployed more widely across the Group and maximise their environmental impact, in line with the promise behind the Environment Award: “Local solutions, global impact.”
