What inspired you and made you want to get into entrepreneurship?
It was an ambition of mine since my earliest childhood that was lying dormant. It was reawakened by a colleague who had taken part in a previous Leonard program (the Novia project led by Alexis Bigot). I was then lucky enough to meet Tien Sy, whose project needed a business backer.
Why was the program well adapted to your project?
Our project – which Tien Sy has managed within his organization for some time – needed a boost to move up a gear. The support we received at Leonard enabled us to mature our service, and thus get our sponsors on board.
What is the next key stage in store for your project?
A GO/NO GO will be decided after the acceleration stage at the end of January 2021, which will determine whether or not the project will go ahead.
Where do you see yourselves in two years’ time?
Deploying Roadcare in New Zealand.
What was the most important moment during the support program?
I don’t have one moment in particular, but more a series of encounters. Even if, in reality, joining the executive committee was an incredible moment. My colleagues came to support me – and my mom even came too!
What important questions has the program forced you to ask yourself?
What is our project and market differentiation? What needs does it meet? Is the timing right?
And in a more pragmatic sense, what is my priority for this week?
What have you taken away from the program?
I’ve met some amazing people. Plus, it’s been intellectually stimulating. I’ve learnt to move out of my comfort zone. Be more daring. Take risks. Prioritize. All that in an exceptional work environment!
And what about your project?
The program gave our project some weight, which enabled us (or rather, all of Roadcare’s board) to overcome one by one the barriers that separated us from the project acceleration phase. And here we are!
