Demo Day: Leonard unveils the progress of projects and startups incubated in 2024
On May 21, 2024, 17 innovative projects from start-ups (SEED programme) and VINCI Group employees (Intrapreneurs programme) in the construction, mobility infrastructure, energy and property sectors were able to present their innovative solutions to an international jury of VINCI executives and investors in the presence of experts and Leonard partners such as BPI France, Axeleo Capital, Daphni, SuperNova Invest, Techmind, Eurazeo, Energy Impact Partners, etc.
Watch the replay of their pitches:
Since its creation in 2017, Leonard has supported more than 200 projects involving digital applications, artificial intelligence, decarbonised materials and new energies to offer solutions to environmental, productivity and safety challenges to those who design, build and maintain everyday infrastructures.
In 2024, 39 projects benefited from the support offered by Leonard under four programs:
- The SEED program, dedicated to developing start-ups.
- The CATALYST program, dedicated to disseminating the most mature solutions in the field.
- The Intrapreneurs program, dedicated to VINCI employees who have a project for a new activity for the Group.
- The AI program, which enables VINCI companies to test the potential of artificial intelligence in their business.
Projects that reflect changes in the sector
Since 2014, Construction Tech has attracted nearly $30 billion in venture capital investment. The trend is set to continue: since 2022, 36 new investment funds dedicated to the construction sector in the US and Europe have raised more than $7 billion, demonstrating investors’ growing appetite for our businesses.
Green tech, which brings together technological innovations and practices designed to reduce the environmental impact of human activities, is a playground for solutions from Leonard’s class of 2024. This is a favourable environment for their development, given that in 2023, French green tech raised almost €278 billion, making France the second country in Europe to invest the most in this type of project (Source: Bpifrance).
"Venture capital investment is flourishing in construction and green tech, and the sector could go much further. The solutions participating in our programmes are driving forces for the future of construction, but also of our everyday lives."
